State Codes

Background
Several international standards organizations exist that provide information regarding states, levels, and subdivisions of world countries – ISO, FIPS, Gazetteer, etc. The International Standards Organization (ISO) is the most commonly used source for country subdivisions. Attributes associated with country subdivisions may be used used in various contexts by different organizations. Subdivision/ State information provided by CommonDataHub is a conglomeration of various sources to provide you with a consolidated view of the information that is downloadable in easily readable and uploadable formats.

Note: ISO data may contain an asterisk next to the Subdivision Code or Name. The asterisk is normally used to note a special designation either for a Subdivision/ State, or to note an additional source of the data. When relevant, CDH will note this information in the Comments column within each record.

Note: Viewing/Filtering content is free for all datasets below, except for certain subscription entities (Users must subscribe to see the full Data Set).
